JCP Miyamoto attends event commemorating 60th anniversary of Japan-S. Korea diplomatic normalization

Japanese Communist Party Miyamoto Takeshi, a former member of the House of Representatives, on May 12 attended an event held in Osaka City to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and South Korea.

The event was hosted by the Korean Residents Union in Japan (Mindan) and the Japan-Korea Friendship Association

Miyamoto exchanged greetings with Mindan Central Headquarters President Kim Yi-joong.

The former JCP lawmaker said that the JCP will make utmost efforts in strengthening the ties of friendship between the two countries and the two peoples on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Japan-ROK normalization. He also said that the government should guarantee permanent foreign residents in Japan the right to vote and to stand in local elections.
