Gov't gives up its plan to pass bill regarding top prosecutors' age of retirement during current Diet session

A bill regarding retirement age of senior prosecutors will be carried over to the next session. JCP Chair Shii said, "The prevention of the bill's passage during the current session is important. I sense the potential power of Japanese democracy."

Shii: International society is tested on its ability to overcome COVID-19 crisis through solidarity and cooperation

JCP Chair Shii said, “What type of society we will live in after the end of the COVID-19 crisis depends on whether human beings can exercise solidarity and cooperation to overcome the current global pandemic.”

Las Vegas Sands Resorts drops its plans to open casino in Japan

Major casino operator Las Vegas Sands announced that it will no longer pursue a plan to develop an integrated resort (IR) in Japan. The JCP Yokohama City Assemblypersons' Group welcomed this decision made by the Sands.
