JCP opposes gov’t-drafted 2024 budget putting military before people’s livelihoods

Japanese Communist Party member of the House of Councilors Yamazoe Taku at the House plenary session opposed the government-proposed 112-trillion-yen budget for fiscal 2024 as it allocates largest-ever eight trillion yen for military spending while failing to deal with the problems Japan is facing, chiefly the rising cost of living and the falling real wages.
