Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on January 24 held a luncheon meeting with the new Cuban ambassador, Marcos Rodriguez, in Tokyo.

They exchanged views on the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) scheduled to be chaired by Cuba this year, the latest developments in Latin America, recent Cuban developments, and the political situation in Japan.
