Year after coup, let us strengthen solidarity with Burmese people!

The Japanese government takes a wait-and-see stance regarding the ongoing ODA projects. To continue pouring public funds into the ODA projects benefitting the military-controlled companies in Myanmar is equivalent to giving a helping hand to the suppression of the basic human rights of Burmese people by the military authorities.

Diplomatic resolution, not military response, is needed to settle situation in Ukraine

International tensions are increasing with Russia deploying more than 100,000 troops along the border with Ukraine. The need now is for the international community to urgently make diplomatic efforts with respect to Ukrainian sovereignty based on international law and the UN Charter.

US military in Japan ends curfew in defiance of local concerns over omicron transmission from US bases

In defiance of local concerns over the transmission of omicron from U.S. bases, the U.S. military in Japan on announced that a curfew which was imposed on U.S. bases in Japan following a surge in COVID-19 cases on bases will be lifted on the day as scheduled.
