Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on November 1 sent a congratulatory message to Brazil’s newly-elected President Dilma Rousseff. His message is as follows:
Please accept our heartfelt congratulations on your election as president, with strong public support for your promise on the continuation and development of the changes carried out by the government headed by President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva.
We have been following with keen interest the advance of the changes in Latin America to democratize economic relations and shed dependence on the United States, especially the role played by the incumbent government of Brazil in the process. We hope that your government, led by the first female president in your country, will continue to be successful in implementing policies to promote economic development and uplifting people’s livelihoods and rights, as well as to establish an international order of peace and justice, according to the people’s will expressed in the elections.
We hope that friendship and solidarity between you and us will further advance in the future.
