JCP Ogata talks with Laotian ambassador to Japan

July 14, 2022
Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on July 13 held talks with Ambassador of Lao PDR to Japan Phongsamouth Anlavan at the JCP head office in Tokyo.

The ambassador, who visited the JCP head office for the first time, after warmly greeting Ogata delivered a message of congratulations from the Lao People's Revolutionary Party upon the centennial anniversary of the JCP's founding and said that she will work to further develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties.

Ogata expressed his gratitude for the message and talked about the results of the House of Councilors election. He explained that the JCP during the election campaign presented to voters its vision of creating true peace in East Asia and that the JCP in its vision attaches importance on collaboration with ASEAN nations, including Laos.

The ambassador responded that Laos experienced the horrors of war and aspires to contribute to true peace in the region and the world.
