Japanese Communist Party members of the House of Councilors Nihi Sohei and Kira Yoshiko and JCP member of the House of Representatives Motomura Nobuko, who is a second-generation Hibakusha, visited Hibakusha residents in a Hibakusha nursing-care home in Nagasaki City.

An 83-year-old female resident, Yamazaki Chizuyo, said, “Wars and armed conflicts still exist in today’s world. I hope nuclear weapons will never be used again.”

Nihi said, “The JCP will make all-out efforts to create a society where all Hibakusha can live in peace with dignity.” Kira expressed her determination to pass down Hibakusha stories to younger generations and work hard to achieve a world without nuclear weapons.
