JCP EC Chair Tamura speaks at commemoration of party’s 103rd anniversary

September 24, 2025
The Japanese Communist Party held a lecture meeting on September 23 in commemoration of the 103rd anniversary of its founding, connecting online the JCP head office in Tokyo with locations nationwide.

JCP Executive Committee Chair Tamura Tomoko spoke broadly on topics such as ways to break through the deadlock of LDP politics, international solidarity for peace, and the JCP vision for a future society.

Many people today are beginning to question the capitalist system, yet the image that “socialism and communism offer no freedom” is still firmly embedded in their minds.

The JCP EC chair, however, emphasized that “human freedom” is precisely the defining goal and characteristics of socialism and communism, and she noted that the JCP has consistently presented this vision of a future society.

Tamura shared her personal experience, stating that guided by Marx’s Capital, discussing the contradictions of capitalism and the JCP vision for a future society with people was stimulating and interesting.

She called on the audience and online viewers, saying, “Let us use Capital as our strength to consciously expand solidarity and unity.”
