Japanese Communist Party Executive Committee Chair Tamura Tomoko, Secretariate Head Koike Akira, and Policy Commission Chair Yamazoe Taku attended the general meeting of the cross-party Japan-South Korea Parliamentarians’ Union held in the Diet building on March 10.
The meeting included a report on the results of the joint general assembly of the Japan-ROK and ROK-Japan parliamentarians’ unions held in Seoul last November as well as a briefing from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the recent Japan-ROK relations.
The bipartisan lawmakers approved the appointment of former Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Takeda Ryota as the union’s new chair.
JCP Tamura serves as the union’s vice chair, Koike as standing director, and Yamazoe as both standing director and vice chair of the union’s committee on legal affairs.
