Japanese Communist Party (JCP) Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo, who is currently visiting Cuba, on August 12 met with Roberto Morales Ojeda, a member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), at the Havana International Conference Center.
Morales spoke of the significance of holding two conferences - the International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP) and the events commemorating the centennial of Fidel Castro’s birth - amid the rising tensions surrounding Cuba. He expressed his gratitude for Ogata’s participation in the two conferences and his
solidarity.
Ogata expressed his appreciation for the international conference, which a JCP representative attended for the first time, noting that it was a valuable opportunity for exchanging views and fostering ties with the participating parties.
Morales welcomed the development of solidarity between East and West, emphasizing that solidarity should be fostered mutually.
