H.E. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva,
President of the Federative Republic of Brazil
Dear Mr. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva,
It is with great joy that I extend my heartfelt congratulations and a message of solidarity on your fourth presidential election victory.
I sincerely hope that you will continue to advance your efforts to fulfill your campaign promises and achieve social justice—including reducing poverty and inequality, improving the lives of workers and citizens through measures such as shorter working hours, and protecting the Amazon’s environment.
I hope that the friendly and cooperative relationship between our party and the government you lead will continue to grow through our shared commitment to global peace and progress—including opposition to wars of aggression and oppression; the defense of an international peace order based on the United Nations Charter and international law; the fair resolution of conflicts; and the abolition of nuclear weapons.
Kazuo SHII
Chairperson of the Central Committee of the Japanese Communist Party
