August 9, 2007
A Communist Party of Vietnam delegation led by Pham Thi Hoe, vice-chair of the CPV Control Commission, visited the Japanese Communist Party head office in Tokyo on August 8.

The delegation was in Japan from August 6-10 to study people’s and public organizations’ role in monitoring the enforcement of laws.

Receiving the CPV delegation, JCP International Affairs Bureau Acting Director Nishiguchi Hikaru explained the results of the recent House of Councilors election, the ensuing political situation which is in turmoil, and the present role of the JCP.

Head of the JCP Legal Affairs Department Yanagisawa Akio and House of Councilors member Nihi Sohei were also present at the meeting and spoke about the JCP’s experiences in exposing corruption, including the party’s concrete parliamentary activities.

Explaining the purpose of the CPV delegation’s visit to Japan at this time, Ms Hoe thanked the JCP for the information. - Akahata, August 9, 2007
