Ogata meets with Nepalese ambassador

February 8, 2008
Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo met with Nepalese Ambassador to Japan Ganesh Yonzan Tamang at the JCP head office on February 7.

After welcoming the ambassador, who arrived in Japan in December, Ogata explained how the JCP is working on the issue of global warming, showing an Akahata correspondent’s report from Nepal about global warming thawing Himalayan glaciers.

Tamang explained Nepal’s environmental concerns in connection with global warming.

The ambassador also spoke about some of the main political issues in Nepal, including the ongoing process of democratization and the Constitution Assembly election set for April. He also said he hopes to continue to keep the JCP informed about developments on these issues.
