Tamura said that in the election campaign, the JCP will work hard to attract voters’ support for the party’s election promises, including realizing a minimum hourly wage hike with a 1,700-yen goal and a “35-hour, 7-hour-a-day workweek”, reducing the consumption tax rate to 5% with the abolition in mind, and putting an end to Japan’s subservience to the U.S. Trump administration and opposing the planned massive increase in military spending.
