The House of Councilors election will be held on July 21. JCP Chair Shii called on all the JCP Dietmembers, "Let's have a showdown with the ruling parties in the election!"
Prime Minister Abe Shinzo applauded the success of the gathering, saying that participating countries showed “unity” based on shared views although there were many disagreements expressed throughout the two-day session.
Regarding the Trump-Kim talks at the DMZ in Panmunjom, JCP Chair Shii said, "This event bears signs of a major transition in the situation on the Korean Peninsula and of a move toward new U.S.-DPRK relations."
