Shii attends South Korea's reception

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo and Secretariat Head Koike Akira on October 3 participated in a reception hosted by the South Korean Embassy in Tokyo held at a Tokyo hotel to celebrate Gaecheonjeol (National Foundation Day).

Shii and Koike exchanged greetings with South Korean Ambassador to Japan Lee Su Hoon and had friendly conversations with Japanese and foreign guests, including the head of the Korean Residents Union in Japan (Mindan).

Together with Shii and Koike, JCP members of the House of Representatives Kasai Akira and Kokuta Keiji also attended the reception. Two days earlier, the two JCP lawmakers as members of the Japan-South Korea parliamentarians' league took part in a ceremony held in Seoul to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Japan-South Korea joint declaration.

Shii sends telegram of condolences on death of former CPV leader Do Muoi

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on October 5 sent a telegram expressing condolences to the Communist Party of Vietnam via the Vietnam Embassy in Tokyo on the death of former CPV General Secretary Do Muoi.

In the telegram, Shii noted that Muoi worked hard to advance the nation-building process and social development from the early stages of the nation's Doi Moi policy. Shii also wrote that the former general secretary contributed to nurturing friendship and good relations between the JCP and the CPV as well as between Japan and Vietnam.
