Demonstration held against Sapporo's winter Olympic bid

October 26, 2022

A demonstration march against Sapporo's bid for the 2030 Winter Olympics took place in Sapporo City on October 23.

Together with Sapporo citizens, union activists, and Japanese Communist Party Sapporo City Assemblypersons Sato Aya and Nagaya Izumi participated in the demonstration,

The demonstrators shouted in chorus, "For snow-removal measures over Olympics! For reliable livelihood support over Olympics! No place for pork-barrel event! Don't bring in corruption-ridden Games to our city!"

Meanwhile, at the underground plaza of Sapporo Station, corporate hirelings were distributing fliers to passersby and shoppers to support the campaign for Sapporo's bid for the 2030 Winter Olympics.
