2011 March 30 - April 5 [ELECTION]

Shii appeals to voters to pin their hopes on JCP

April 2, 2011
The elections to be held in 41 prefectural assemblies and 15 major city assemblies were officially announced on April 1. Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo gave a street speech at two locations in Chiba Prefecture and one in Osaka City, calling on voters to pin their hopes on the JCP for a disaster-resistant and welfare-conscious community.

The JCP is fielding 227 candidates in prefectural assembly elections and 163 in major city assembly elections to be held on April 10, the same day as gubernatorial races in 12 prefectures and the mayoral races in four major cities.

JCP Secretariat Head Ichida Tadayoshi delivered a street speech in support of JCP candidates in Kyoto City and in Aichi Prefecture. Other JCP leaders and Dietmembers also informed voters of the JCP stance on how to face up to the present national crisis and called on them to support the party.
