US civilian employee of US military arrested for hit-and-run drunk driving

April 5, 2013
Kadena Police in Okinawa Prefecture on April 4 reported that it rearrested a 20-year-old civilian employee of the U.S. Marines logistics facilities for a hit-and-run accident.

Karen Garcia, who works at U.S. Camp Kinser, reportedly crashed into a car resulting in three injuries in Kadena Town at around 1:00 a.m. on March 14. She, however, fled the scene of the accident.

Immediately after the accident, she caused another crash in Yomitan Village and was arrested on the spot. Police said that a high level of alcohol was detected in her breath.
