JCP Vice Chair Ogata meets with Vietnamese CP delegation

October 16, 2009
Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo received a Communist Party of Vietnam delegation led by CPV Thai Nguyen Province Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Vuong (National Assembly member) on October 15 at the JCP head office in Tokyo.

Vuong told Ogata that the CPV wants to continue to develop good relations between Vietnam and Japan. Referring to the theoretical exchanges that have been developed between the two parties, he also expressed hope for the CPV-JCP friendship to be strengthened.

Ogata stated the JCP’s position regarding how JCP-CPV relations might be developed and answered Vuong’s questions regarding the JCP’s experience in party building efforts.

He explained the decision of the JCP Central Committee 9th Plenum and how the JCP is organizing its work on the principle that the “JCP branches are the main players.”

Asked by Vuong if JCP workplace branches hold their regular meetings during normal working hours, Ogata explained that party branches face various kinds of discrimination and difficulties in the course of their struggle and that meetings are held at times most convenient for participants.
