JCP Chair Tamura Tomoko called for holding both chambers’ Budget Committee meetings during the current Diet recess in order to have the government explain why it had hidden the U.S. crimes from the prefectural government.
The JCP Dietmembers’ group held a meeting with victims, who had been forced to receive eugenic sterilization under the former Eugenic Protection Law (1948-1996),
in response to the Supreme Court ruling.
“Everyone who has few children should put your hands on your hearts and reflect,” Sasagawa Takashi, a leading figure in the LDP, said at a meeting in Gunma. He also said, “If men are strong and have enough stamina, women will surely have children.”
