The latest Akahata Sunday edition revealed that a Liberal Democratic Party faction led by newly-elected LDP President Ishiba Shigeru allegedly created slush funds through off-the-book revenues from fundraising party ticket sales.
JCP CC Chair Shii grilled PM Ishiba regarding his faction’s off-the-book fund allegation which was revealed by the latest Akahata Sunday edition. Ishiba admitted to the unreported funds, claiming that it happened due to a clerical error.
JCP Secretariat Head Koike Akira, on a BS-TBS news program said, “What is important is for each opposition party to engage in the election campaign from its own standpoint in order to shake up and defeat the LDP.”
