Komei Party withdraws from coalition government with LDP

The LDP-Komei coalition government, which has forced through numerous harmful laws and cabinet decisions based on its majority power in the Diet for 26 years since 1999, has collapsed.

JCP Central Committee Chair Shii Kazuo released a statement titled, “The JCP Calls for Strict Implementation of the Agreement and the Realization of Comprehensive Peace – Regarding the Announcement of the Gaza Ceasefire Agreement.”

Japan should denote 2 Nobel Prizes as turning point to strengthen support for basic research

Professor Sakaguchi Shimon received the Prize in the Physiology or Medicine, and Professor Kitagawa Susumu was awarded the Prize in Chemistry. Both laureates appealed to the Minister of Education to strengthen state support for basic research.
