Okinawa Police on July 5 arrested a U.S. airman basic assigned to the U.S. Kadena Air Base for punching his girlfriend in the face.

Tomas Salazar, 25, is suspected of injuring a Japanese woman in her 20s with whom he was in a relationship. According to the police, at a parking lot in Okinawa City at around 3:30 a.m. on July 5, he forced her down to the ground and punched her in the face several times.
