List of Past issues Former Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Chair Fuwa Tetsuzo (birth name Ueda Kenjiro) died of acute cardiac failure at a hospital in Tokyo. He was 95. The January 5 issue of daily Akahata featured an article by Sugawara Hiraku, the paper’s foreign news editor, in which he condemned the United States for kidnapping Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife. JCP Executive Committee Chair Tamura Tomoko at the party’s New Year assembly urged all JCP members to uphold sound principles, expand national cooperation, propel the party forward, and not be swept away by the tide of the times.
