JCP sends message of solidarity to convention of Tokyo CDPJ

November 27, 2021

The Tokyo Metropolitan Committee of the Japanese Communist Party sent a message of solidarity to an extraordinary convention of Tokyo's Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan held on November 26.

The message recognizes that efforts made by opposition parties working together with concerned citizens in the general election in 2017, the Tokyo gubernatorial election last year, and the Tokyo metropolitan assembly election this year achieved substantial progress, stressing that this collaboration had a noticeable beneficial effect in the October 31 generation election. The message optimistically states that with a further increase in the citizens-opposition parties' joint struggle, a victory over the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komei Party will certainly come in the near future.

The message adds that it is necessary for opposition parties to advance dialogue with concerned citizens based on the lessons learned from the citizens-opposition parties' collaborative activities so far and to work together to further develop the joint struggle. The message calls for the establishment of a new government by putting an end to the LDP-Komei regime.
