Democratic Party of Japan Diet Affairs Committee Chair Yamaoka Kenji on May 31 stated that his party will continue working with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in elections.

Yamaoka also revealed that his counterpart Teruya Kantoku confirmed that the SDP will keep cooperating in elections with the DPJ as before and that Teruya responded, “Fine,” in regard to holding regular meetings with DPJ, SDP, and People’s New Party Diet committee chairpersons.

Yamaoka reported on this decision to DPJ lawmakers by saying, “As our friend, we will collaborate with the SDP.”
