Japanese Communist Party International Commission Secretary General Tagawa Minoru recently met with a representative of the UN Women Japan Committee, Hashimoto Hiroko, in Tokyo to deliver about 5.65 million yen in donations for Ukraine which the JCP had collected from across the country.
For four years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the UN Women Japan Committee has been supporting Ukrainian women adversely affected by the war.
Hashimoto said, “Although the heartbreaking situation remains unchanged, we have to keep on working to provide support. I’ll send the money directly to the UN Women office in Ukraine.”
Tagawa expressed his respect for the UN organization’s activities during a difficult wartime situation.
