JCP EC Chair Tamura meets with Iranian ambassador to Japan

March 12, 2026
Japanese Communist Party Executive Committee Chair Tamura Tomoko met with Iranian Ambassador to Japan Peiman Seadat at the JCP head office on March 11 and exchanged views on the ongoing airstrikes by the United States and Israel against Iran.

The ambassador stated that many civilians, including children, as well as Iran’s supreme leader, had been killed. He condemned the U.S.-Israeli aggression as a violation of the UN Charter, international law, and international humanitarian law. He asserted that their attacks constitute an assault on international justice. He pointed out that it was the U.S. Trump administration itself that had destroyed the ongoing negotiations focused on the nuclear issue.

Tamura emphasized that the U.S.-Israeli action clearly violates the UN Charter, and that the use of military force to assassinate a leader of an independent sovereign state is unacceptable under any circumstances. She stated that the JCP is demanding that Japan’s Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae urge the United States and Israel to immediately cease their bombing campaign.

The JCP chair noted that many concerned citizens in Japan, including the younger generations, are raising their voices in opposition to the two countries’ lawless acts and calling for an end to the war, both in front of the Diet building and on the streets across the country.

Tamura stated that the U.S. Trump administration is disregarding international law, as seen in the attack on Venezuela and the obstruction of oil supplies to Cuba. She declared that the JCP will call for international solidarity to prevent the destruction of the world’s peace order.
