'Femi-Bridge Action' launched

September 24, 2023

The Civil Alliance on September 23 started its "Femi-Bridge Action" campaign week near Shinjuku Station in Tokyo. More than 200 participants called for a change in politics through the power of women.

Representatives of the opposition parties delivered speeches in solidarity.

Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Tamura Tomoko noted that the public support for changes in irrational practices such as forcing married couples to use the same surname is increasing in Japan. She said, "Let us further boost cooperative ties between opposition parties and concerned citizens in order to change politics!"

Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan Yoshida Harumi (House of Representatives), Social Democratic Party Fukushima Mizuho (House of Councilors), and Yoda Karen of the "Reiwa Shinsengumi" party also spoke in solidarity.
