The ministry responsible for religious matters on October 13 requested the Tokyo District Court to issue an order to dissolve the former Unification Church (currently Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, Moonies) on the grounds of its illegal acts.

In this regard, among many media reports, Akahata on October 16 carried an article which again shed light on the Moonies’ true nature which is to function as an inseparable part of the International Federation for Victory over Communism (IFVC) in their anti-communism movements worldwide.

The former Unification Church in 1961 succeeded in gaining strength with help from the Korean Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA). In January 1968, it founded the IFVC in South Korea. Three months later, the Japanese unit of the IFVC was established in accordance with an agreement between the founder of the Unification Church, Sun Myung Moon, and a well-known Japanese right-wing mogul, Sasagawa Ryoichi, in July 1967 to set up an anti-communism alliance.

At the time of establishment, the IFVC Japan was headed by the then Japan Unification Church’s chair, Kuboki Osami. Initiators of this organization included former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo’s Class A war criminal grandfather Kishi Nobusuke. This was the starting point of a close relationship between ex-PM Abe and the Liberal Democratic Party with the Moonies.

The Moonies, for the purpose of securing human and financial resources for its anti-communism movement, has conducted organizational activities and illegal activities such as selling extremely overpriced religious objects and goods with the use of highly persuasive brainwashing tactics. In Japan, it is the Japanese Communist Party which has squarely confronted the Moonies by unveiling its true character.
