Joint struggle body to support JAL workers formed in Kyoto

June 22, 2011
Kyoto unionists and citizens on June 21 inaugurated a joint struggle body to support ex-JAL workers in their court struggle seeking revocation of the dismissals of 165 pilots and cabin attendants.

The establishment of such a body is the third after Osaka and Fukuoka.

Prior to the inauguration meeting, the body took to the streets to call for public support all day long.

In front of KYOCERA Corporation, founded by JAL CEO Inamori Kazuo, the dismissed JAL workers and their supporters from Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka held a rally calling on KYOCERA workers to support the court struggle of the former JAL crew.

In the rally, a plaintiff in a lawsuit against JAL, Yamaguchi Hiroya criticized that while Inamori stated that the dismissal was unnecessary and that he is willing to discuss the matter with the plaintiffs, he has refused to sit at the table with them.

About 200 people attended the inaugural meeting.
