The Japanese Communist Party on January 18 ended its 29th Party Congress, held for four days from January 15 in Shizuoka’s Atami City, after appointing Tamura Tomoko as the new Chair of the JCP Executive Committee.
Japanese Communist Party Secretariat Head Koike Akira pointed out, “The need is for the LDP to first explain in detail the acts of corruption before dissolving its factions.” He criticized the LDP for intending to fob off the issue with the dissolution.
JCP member of the House of Representatives Kasai Akira attended a forum held between Executive Director for the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), Melissa Parke, and Japanese Dietmembers in the Diet building.
