Japanese Communist Party lawmaker Tamura Takaaki at a House of Representatives Budget Committee meeting criticized the government decision to hold off on recognizing a Palestinian state.
JCP Secretariat Head Koike said that candidates in the LDP leadership race have no intent to solve the serious problems Japan is now facing. Rather, he added, they are more enthusiastic about forming a “reactionary bloc” with rightwing, xenophobic political parties.
The Unification Church (aka Moonies) also cultivated close ties primarily with LDP politicians in Japan. It provided support for election campaigns of many LDP candidates. Some were even invited to speak at Moonies-related events.
